Having no experience "reading" into music videos, I greatly enjoyed it during class. It's interesting trying to look into the minds of the musicians and seeing what they are trying to portray through their music videos. Every music video made has a meaning and is trying to tell the audience something. I find it interesting that every person watching the video will interpret the meaning differently. I really liked the different types of videos we watched. I can truthfully say that I've never watched anything as interesting as those videos in class. What amazes me the most about those videos is how much of an impact they can have on their viewers. In just a few, short minutes your mood can be changed completely. I think it's the impact of the video that makes them so interesting.
What really struck me the most while reading the article about Joel Trussell is that he always followed his passion. Even though he says that a lot of the time he doesn't know what to do, he knows what he is passionate about and he chases that. It was very brave of him to quit his job of making Flash games because he knew that this is not what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He ended up working in his wife's grandmother's house on computers and yet he still never gave up following his dream. He sent out e-mails to everyone he could think of and eventually became famous for his work. Joel is a great example of what a driven passion and determination can get you.
