Documentaries and Art

I enjoyed watching the clips of different documentaries in class. It's interesting to see who's life the producer thinks is worth recording. Even though some things are probably staged, it's the most realistic thing we can watch on television. I think this is why I've always liked them. Everything on TV  always seemed so fake to me. Then I see documentaries of people living their everyday lives and they mess up and do normal human things that you don't see anywhere else on TV. I guess it makes me able to relate to them and their lives.

I never really thought about Christians dismissing art because of it's sinful nature. But after reading the article, I've realized that it's true. The fact of the matter is that art is a creation and even though it may show sin that does not mean that it should be dismissed. We are sinful because we are human. Every single one us are sinful. So we shouldn't dismiss art that might show sinful material because it's just exposing what we encounter as human beings. It's an expression that shouldn't be ignored because of it's nature.
