How social media has changed our lives and video games

Looking at the last 10 years is kind of a weird milestone.  To think that in another 20 years or so I could be telling my kids about when I got my first smartphone is a weird thought to have.  In today's digital age that social media has created, I can't help but see a correlation between the attention seeking social media aspect to violence in video.  Although yes, it's a long shot in ways but people are seeking to do "the next big thing" all the time.  I've played video games all my life and think I'm well grounded to know the difference between fantasy and reality but I can't help but think about somebody that's going to use real life violence as the next attention getter just for a spotlight. We see ISIS doing it today and sadly it's having great success.  Hopefully others in western society don't follow the trend but it's a scary thought to process.
