Art is Art

Many different people see art in many different ways. Some people watch a movie, and think "Woah. That was a game changer" and rethink their lives. Others will watch that movie and say "I liked the part when they guy got hit in the head with two coconuts!" Whether art is to entertain, or to inspire, it is still going to be interpreted differently by everyone. Which is the awesome thing about art! Art is just an amazing outlet. There are so many different arts, there is music, film, literature, paintings, sculptures, and video games. I truly believe these different outlets can inspire people, and enlighten them with knowledge. Also, some art is just there to entertain us, like comedies. Most, not all, are made just to give the viewer a break from life, and give them a laugh. I believe comedy is a great art, even though to most, it is considered to be the lowest and cheapest medium of entertainment. But... isn't that the point? The whole point is to entertain people. That's pretty much it. It's not suppose to tell the viewer any deep meaning. This is where I think people hate on comedies too much. There are some really amazing comedians who actually enlighten the mind. People such as Steve Martin, and Woody Allen. I believe Woody Allen does an incredible job in his comedies. He doesn't use cheap humor, he uses sophisticated, cultured humor. You have to know something about art as a whole to truly appreciate Woody Allen.

Sometimes art inspires people by what it does, not what it is.
