Freaks

I'm really happy we watched Freak of the Week. Its one of my favorite animated music videos ever. I mean, look at that gorgeous animation!
Makes me super jealous every time. But anyways, its a really well made video and it has a lot of interesting layers to it in terms of its subject material and imagery. Lately all the stars and wannabes seem to be trying to be as outlandish as possible and adding up the shock factor in order to keep our attention. Even all the stupid little lists linked on Facebook and such that are like '10 disgusting things about the inside of your body. 9 made me wanna get sick!' and stuff like that, they are all preying on us wanting to be surprised. But we don't want to /be/ those people who are weird, we just want to look at them, maybe laugh or sneer in their direction. We love to watch them but would we want to be near them in real life?

I don't use Facebook a whole lot, I get on it mostly because messaging on it is easier than texting for me when contacting my family back home, which I do often. It is crazy to think that it is still relatively new in comparison to a lot of things in this world and yet it is used by so many people. Honestly if it didn't connect me to people who are far away I wouldn't probably be on it at all, because there are many other sites that do social media better in my opinion, but Facebook is sort of the common 'everyone has one' where, say, my family doesn't have tumblr to follow me (and...maybe I'm ok with that haha).
